About me

I came to Sunderland in 2007 to study for a qualification in Business & Management. What was meant to be a temporary move became a long-term commitment. I built a life here, found opportunity, and chose to make Sunderland my permanent home.

Nearly twenty years later, I still live and work in the city. While many people move on after their studies, I chose to stay, put down roots, and contribute to the community that welcomed me.

I am a local employer and entrepreneur, with experience across education and security. My work has always been in the private sector, without reliance on public funding or council contracts. In recent years, my vocational work has helped more than 1,200 people gain skills and recognised qualifications for roles in the security sector, supporting local employment and higher professional standards.

Alongside this, I also work on the frontline as a subcontracted officer helping to protect Sunderland railway station. This keeps me closely connected to everyday issues around community safety, public reassurance, and the realities faced by residents, workers, and visitors.

Giving Back to Sunderland

Sunderland gave me the opportunity to study, build businesses, and establish long-term roots. I want to give something back by serving the community that has become my home. I believe local representatives should bring real-world experience, practical judgement, and respect for taxpayers' money.

I care about safe streets, strong local services, and creating opportunities for people who are willing to work and contribute — because that's exactly what Sunderland gave me.
